Marmalade cottage was built in 1917. Then it was renovated in the 1950s. Then nothing, really. It's been empty for a couple of years and still has its fabulous, kitsch linoleum floor coverings. And an outside loo and a beautiful cream and green Metters wood stove. Come with us as we transform a gracious shell into a functional house and create a fragrant, edible garden around it.

There will be chooks!
This is what Enid Blyton would call the bottom of the garden. Only, in this garden we're fairly certain there are no fairies. You can see the creative reinventor starting to build a poultry palace.
We've done some research and decided that two chooks should give us quite enough eggs, and will be able to take care of the kitchen scraps. Not to mention the amount of manure we can use in the garden space available. It's very exciting!
